Home Stretch!
This is just a quick update about our efforts to repair the erosion on the Lake Ellen dam. Work has begun and is expected to be done in about a month, assuming that the weather cooperates, The project involves cleaning out debris in the creek so that it can be directed back to its original channel and armoring the dam against any future incursions by the creek. We have almost raised the full cost of the project, but are still a little short, so if you were thinking of contributing - now is the time! All contributions are voluntary and any amount is appreciated! Contributions can be made by venmo using @Ellen-Lake-5 or by check to our treasurer, Karen Caira, at 138 Lake Ellen Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, or by PayPal at our website at lakeellenhoa.org

Volunteers needed!
We have a few finishing touches to make on the dam repair and enhancement project. One of them calls for the replenishment of gravel along a portion of the walking pathway across the lake dam.
We’re looking for volunteers to help with this project. LEHA will purchase and deliver 2 cubic yards of small gravel. We are looking for volunteers to help spread the gravel along a limited section of the pathway.
If you can help out with this project, please respond to this email or get in touch with neighbor Scott Parker at 919-942-8113.

Fish are
coming!
Good news! The time has finally come for Lake Ellen to be restocked with fish. Foster Pond and Lake Management has been hired by your HOA (LEHA) to deliver fish. They will be arriving tomorrow morning (Tuesday, October 27th) around 9:30 near the Taylor Street end of the dam. Feel free to come down and watch (at a safe distance, in accordance with CDC guidelines) as hundreds of new fish are released into our neighborhood lake. Thank you to everyone who supports LEHA with their annual membership dues for making this restocking event possible!
